DENIC Registry Data Escrow (RyDE)
DENIC Services is part of the global ecosystem for the registration and secure operation of generic (gTLD) and country-code top-level domains (ccTLD). More than 2,800 domain registries and registrars worldwide rely on Data Escrow from DENIC Services. DENIC's highly secure IT infrastructure stores the data of more than 180 million domains and thus more than half of all domains worldwide.
To operate a gTLD, it is mandatory to deposit the data of the operated registries with an escrow agent. DENIC Services is the only designated escrow service in the ICANN RDE programme and an approved escrow agent in the ICANN Registry Data Escrow programme.

ICANN Organisation
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) coordinates the allocation of unique names and addresses on the Internet. With the help of the multi-stakeholder model, in which all affected parties participate in discussions and find joint solutions, ICANN defines the policies according to which the Internet functions.
Registry Service Provider
ICANN evaluates RSPs in the Registry Service Provider Evaluation Programme. This is intended to ensure a stable, secure and resilient Internet. RSPs provide critical services - such as operation of the DNS, the Registration Data Access Protocol (formerly "Who is") and DNS security extensions, among others - on behalf of a registry operator.
